Enterprise and government segments performed exceptionally well, registering a 10.6 percent YoY increase.

HP led the India PC market in 2024 with a commanding 30.1 percent share. The company’s enterprise and government segment shipments grew by 14.3 percent and 14.7 percent YoY, respectively. However, its consumer segment declined by 7.5 percent, primarily due to increasing competition, particularly in the eTailer space.

2. Lenovo – Strong Growth Across Segments

Lenovo secured the second position with a 17.2 percent market share. The brand witnessed a 7 percent growth in the consumer segment and a 7.4 percent rise in the commercial segment. Consistent efforts in the enterprise sector and eTailer channels contributed to its 7.3 percent YoY growth.

3. Dell – Holding Steady at Third

Acer saw the highest growth among the top five PC brands in India, securing a 15.1 percent market share. The company’s aggressive pricing strategies, steep discounts, and push through eTailer channels drove a massive 48.4 percent YoY increase in consumer segment shipments.

Asus rounded out the top five with a 7 percent market share, driven by a well-maintained channel inventory. The brand made significant strides in the commercial segment, growing by 18.4 percent YoY in 2024.

IDC Research Manager Bharath Shenoy highlighted that gaming and AI-powered PCs played a major role in driving consumer demand. Since mid-2024, the shipment of AI-powered notebooks has surged, particularly those featuring Intel Core Ultra and AMD Ryzen AI processors.

According to Navkendar Singh, Associate Vice President of Devices Research at IDC India, the commercial PC market saw strong growth due to public sector purchases and refresh orders. However, he cautioned that the weakening rupee could impact the price-sensitive SMB and consumer segments. IDC predicts that while India PC market growth will continue in 2025, it is likely to remain in the low single digits.
